Hi All,
I went home for a few days over labor day. You sure have had a lot of rain there! Lived on West First and Hoffman and then Watkins Glen. It's always good to come home. By the way, the breakfast food at Manos was great!. Just wanted to say how much I miss the area and try to get back about 2 or 3 times a year. I was glad to see Eldridge Park and the Merry go round... Even though I moved 20 years ago next spring, the Elmira area will always be called home.

I'm not from Elmira, but I came across an old Post Card of the Willys-Morrow Company in Elmira. The factory looked gigantic. I got curious googled the name but couldn't come up with anything more then some engines were made there. Can anybody help? What did they make there? Please email with any info. Thanks!

 Marlene and I just attend the SHS 40th reunion. We had a wonderful time and wish to thank the entire committee; Sandy Davies Ackerman, Judy Weieberg Greven, Joan Guthrie, Rick Milazzo, Jackie McDonald Scarpi, Sue Palmer Little, Bob Kurcoba, Don Maus, and Carol Pizozzolo Hungerford. Thanks everyone who planned and attended for taking the time to care. Let's do it again on our 45th and 50th. Long live the class of 1966.

Hello to all! I was born in Elmira on 3-4-56. We lived at 874 Holdridge St. on the southside til 1965, then we moved to Plymouth, Mi. My parents still live there.Both my Mom and Dad worked at Remington Rand.
Of course I went to high school in Plymouth, and graduated in 1974. I often wonder what my life would have been like if we had never moved to Michigan.
My Grandmothers name was Viola Breck. In 1968 she married a wonderful man named Ray Wintamute. He was retired from working at Corning Glass Works. Her and Ray lived on Jefferson St. up to 1982. In that year we moved them out to Michigan. Unfortunately, my Grandmother died in Oct. of that year. Two years later, we moved Ray to Auburn, Ny. to live with his grandson.
If anyone reading this knew me or any of my family, I would love to here from you! Especially any of my childhood friends, Tina and Carol McHerrick, or Janet and Mary Lou Sykes.

I moved to NC 2 months ago with my husband and 2 beautiful children for better opportunities, though I do miss my mom and dad VERY much and all the familiarity of home. Hope to visit soon.

Grew up in Elmira on Maple Ave. Would have graduated from Southside in 81, but Dad took a job in WV in 1978 - been here ever since. Was a paramedic almost 20 years, now a Pediatric ICU RN here. We went to Park Church - parents were Al and Pat Zabel. Love the site - makes me miss Elmira a lot! Look forward to hearing from anyone!

I presently live in Phoenix, AZ with my husband Dan, and 21 yr old son, Joe who is currently at ASU studying criminal justice. This is also a chance to let you know that the 40 yr reunion of the SHS class of 1967 is now being planned. It has been planned for the weekend of the 14,15,16th of September 2007. To be held in Elmira. Contacts for this are myself and Connie Granger Pritchett at CLP49@aol.com and Anita Moon Quanz at AKQ@aol.com. We need any new contact information on classmates including mailing addresses and emails. We also need to know how many would like to attend so that we can garner an approximate number of participants. We hope to have almost all the information about the event soon after the start of the new year. We need to give everyone time to plan for it, especially those from out of town. HI all! I'm planning a trip home to visit my family and came across this site. I've been in San Antonio since 1995 and am married to Tom. We have 2 daughters. They are 5 & 2 yrs old, they sure keep us busy. I graduated from UT here and now own a karate school and a custom embroidery business.
I sure don't miss the COLD winters but I do miss the fall colors. This far south we only have 2 seasons, HOT & not too hot.
Well, see you all in a couple weeks.

I graduated from Troy High, Troy pa. I worked in SSKressge, Rite Aid on Water st. I have 3 grown sons and two grandsons back home in ELmira South side graduates. I lived in and around Elmira for most of my life. I really miss the vivid colors in the fall. But the one thing that I do NOT miss is those awful winters! It is fun looking at the pictures and remembering things I'd completely forgotten about.

I was hoping there would be a 40th reunion last year but could never find any news of it or of my classmates from Diven. I would like to hear from classmates and keep up with any reunions. The pictures of EP were great and brought back great memories of my girlfriends and I walking from the neighborhood (near Joycrest)to the park, flirting with the guys, riding the whip and roller coaster,playing skeeball, and eating fries with vinegar. I have lived in the same small NJ town for almost 30 years - nice place but definitely not Elmira.

i grew up there...i miss it from time to time....got into to much trouble up there had to move away....I am now an EMT with the local ambulance..those who knew me back then..can you believe that!!...if anyone that i grew up with sees this please e-mail me would like to know how you are doing
